So, if weight gain is the reason you’re abstaining, rejoice, and have one
or all three of the following cocktails.
a) Cosmos-

California; now anyone can have this 140 calorie drink.

and bright pink.

and sugar substitute, 2 tsp. of unsweetened cranberry juice and 2 drops of orange
extract. Shake well; strain into the glass.
b) Margaritas-
Enjoyed by single women everywhere and if you’ve given them up due to
calorie count put them back on the menu.
Triple sec and sour mixes are loaded with sugar, but this easy version delivers
all the flavor you crave with none of the carbs.

In an ice-filled shaker, combine 1 1/2 oz. tequila, 1 Tbs. of freshly squeezed
lime juice, 2 drops of stevia and 1/4 tsp. of orange extract. Shake well;
strain into a lime-wedged glass. If you desire more ice, add it.
c) Old-Fashioneds-
If you’re a man cut out out of the Sean Connery ideal of a man (the 1st James
Bond) but the extra calories and carbs have caused you put this drink on the
sidelines, feel free to indulge again, thanks to the omission of carb-heavy
maraschino cherries and simple syrup.
This old-fashioned uses bitters and sugar-free vanilla syrup instead.
To make:
In a glass, muddle* a 1″ piece of orange zest with 2 tsp. of sugar-free
vanilla syrup, (buy Torani). Add ice, 2 oz. of bourbon and 2 dashes of orange
bitters. Stir well.
* Muddle- means to crush fruit or herbs to bring out more flavors.
That’s it- your guide to low calorie and zero-carb adult beverages for
this holiday season.
Enjoy!
