You don’t usually see desserts and better health in the same sentence.
But hold on, not all desserts have to be a thick slice of cake, a big piece
of pie or a bowl of Ice cream.
The 2 desserts listed below, are under 300 calories a serving and can
actually do some good for your health.

The first dessert has plums and walnuts and if you’re not sure how plums
and walnuts can improve your health, here are some of the benefits.
1) Plums-
* Help protect your skin from the Sun’s harmful rays. (Natural Sunscreen)
* Fights certain cancers
* Combats constipation
* lowers blood sugar levels
* builds strong bones


2) Walnuts-
* Heal damaged brain cells. Enhance focus and boost short-term memory.
* Decrease Inflammation
* High in Omega-3s, an alternative to fish
* Lowers blood pressure

First dessert:
Plum Cobbler!
Ingredients:
1 cup of granola
1 cup of walnuts (chopped)
2 1/4 lbs. of red plums, pitted and sliced
1/3 cup of sugar
1 Tbs. of cornstarch
1 Tbs. of lemon juice
To make:
Heat oven to 350*F. Mix granola and walnuts. Place 8 (8oz.) or a big baking dish
on a sheet pan. In a bowl, mix plums, sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice. Divide
among the dishes or spoon it into the big baking dish and cover with foil.
Bake until plums are tender, 20 to 25 mins. uncovering and topping with
granola mix during the last 5 mins. Let cool on the rack.
Calories per dish-210, Prot-4g. Carbs-24g.

2nd Dessert-
This is a pizza, but not the pizza you’re used to, this one is made with
fruit. The Berries: raspberries, blueberries and strawberries.
And the benefits you get from each fruit…
1) Blueberries-
* Improved eyesight
* Less damage to the brain, which means reduced odds of dementia
and Alzheimer’s.
2) Strawberries-
* Reduce stress levels with strawberries. Compounds in the berries
send calm-inducing signals to the brain to tame tension in less than
30 mins.
3) Raspberries-
* Speed up Metabolism and lose weight a little faster.

The Dessert:
Mixed Berry Pizza!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of pancake and baking mix (Try Bisquick gluten-free)
1/4 cup of Ricotta cheese
2 Tbs. of sugar
1/2 cup of lemon curd
1/2 cup of strawberry or raspberry jam
4 cups of mixed berries
To make:
Heat oven to 450*F. Grease a baking sheet. Mix the baking mix, Ricotta cheese,
sugar and 1/4 cup of hot water until dough forms. Divide in half, shape into balls.
Flatten to 2 (7″) rounds; transfer to the baking sheet. Bake until golden, 8 to 10 mins.
Let cool. Spread with the lemon curd and jam. Add the mixed berries.
If you prefer your fruit pizza a little warm, place it back into the oven
for a few mins. and then remove it. You can add some low-fat whipped
cream, low-sugar syrup or eat it without any topping.
Calories per slice- 270, Prot-4g. Carbs-50.
