Do you plan on grilling this Mother’s day?
What types of marinades do you use?
Well, treat your mom (and other guests) to some marinades
that are quick and easy to make and great tasting,

Listed below are 3 marinades for less expensive cuts of meat and seafood.
So, get out a piece of paper and a pen and copy the recipes for these 3 summer
marinades.

1) Beef-
Soy sauce is often used to enhance the flavor of beef, but did you know
that adding sesame seeds and sesame oil can really make beef taste
like an expensive cut of meat. Consider it an Asian-style beef dish.
To make:
Marinate 1lb. of inexpensive London broil (or a regular steak) by mixing
1/4 cup of soy sauce (regular or low-sodium) and minced scallion, 2 Tbs. of water,
1 tsp. of honey, 2 tsp. of sesame oil, 1 tsp. of minced garlic and 1 tsp. of sesame seeds.
Mix well and pour into a deep dish and set the London broil into the dish and marinate
the top and leave alone for a few hours or overnight.
Another tip: This marinade is also great for pork and beef ribs.

2) Chicken-
People love to cook chicken thighs on the grill, mainly because of the taste,
but if you’re tiring of plain grilled thighs, use this recipe to really turn up the
tenderness and flavor.
To make:
Mix 1 cup of plain yogurt, 3 Tbs. of lemon juice, 2 Tbs. of olive oil, 2 tsp. of smoked
paprika, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1/2 tsp. of salt and 1/2 tsp. of ground cumin.
Mix well and pour over the thighs. And as the first recipe instructed-marinate for
a few hours or overnight.

3) Seafood-
The price of seafood often scares people into playing it safe and just lightly
frying (on a stove) or grilling with a few seasonings, but if you’re daring and
want something a little more extravagant, use the following marinade.
To make:
The marinade contains both cilantro and citrus.
Tangy and slightly sweet orange and lime juice balance the natural brininess
of the seafood. Mix 3 Tbs. of orange juice, 2 Tbs. of lime juice, 2 Tbs. of chopped
cilantro, 2 tsp. of olive oil, 1 tsp. of honey, 1/2 tsp. of grated ginger (fresh or ground)
1/4 tsp. of salt and 1 minced jalapeno. Mix well and pour over salmon, tilapia or jumbo
shrimp.
Important tip:
If you’re not able to grill outdoors, , that’s okay, just use your indoor oven or stove top
grill.
