The Thanksgiving Side Dish To Lower Stress and Tension!
Are you planning a big Thanksgiving dinner this year?
And if you are planning on cooking up a storm, what will the side
dishes be?
Well, if you’re one who usually gets easily stressed and anxiety-ridden,
you may want to add some potato dishes to the Thanksgiving menu.
Potatoes?
Aren’t they fattening and won’t they make me sleepy?
Yes and no, they’re only fattening if you add tons of butter, sour cream and gravy
to them, and as for sleepiness, it’s all of the foods that you eat in one sitting
that contributes to sleepiness.
But wait, this post is about lessening your stress and anxiety levels and potatoes
with the skin will greatly reduce both health issues.
Potato skins are rich in potassium–a mineral that keeps muscles relaxed and
tension-free.
So, if you plan on making potatoes this Nov. 25th for both the taste and stress
reducing benefits, here are some recipes to help you in your quest.
Listed below is a recipe for potatoes that doesn’t require you to cook them
on top of the stove or in the oven, all that’s required is an Air-Fryer.
The Potato Recipe:
Hasselback Potatoes!
These air-fried potatoes are flavored-packed with half the fat.
To make: Heat up your air-fryer to 350*F.
Clean 6 potatoes thoroughly and pat dry.
Cut slits crosswise into 6 potatoes, making sure not to cut all the way through.
Mix 3 Tbs. of olive oil, 2 tsp. of garlic powder, 1 tsp. of paprika and salt and 1/2 tsp.
of black pepper. Brush this on top of the potatoes, then place them in the air-fry
and leave for 25 to 30 mins. After removing the potatoes, top them with parsley,
or chives or basil.
One more reminder, you may want to add a potato dish (with the skins on) for a
week or two before Thanksgiving, as that’s how long it’ll take to really lower
your stress and tension levels.
Air Fryer that’s inexpensive and easy to use: Gourmia 6 Digital Air-Fryer at Walmart.
Price- less than $60.00.
