Now that Summer is in full-swing, you may want to take a few steps to “cancer-proof”
your body.

Cancer-Proof Your Body?
Yes, by doing the simple steps listed below, you can reduce your odds of getting
several cancers by 50% or more.

The simple steps:
1) Go Outdoors-
You probably know all about the benefits of getting vitamin D, and if you want to hold onto
your money, don’t buy supplements, get some vitamin D from the Sun.
Just 15 to 20 mins. of Sun on your skin (without sunscreen) can cut your cancer risk
by up to 30%. The Sun helps your body make vitamin D, and it (D) shuts down abnormal
cells before they can become cancerous.
And for those unable to get outdoors, sit next to a window and get some Sun that way,
and lastly, if this isn’t possible, ask your health-care provider for a good vitamin D
recommendation.
2) Avoid-
Cigarette Smoke. You’ve been warned about this for 30 years, but avoiding it
not only lowers your risk of lung cancer, but mouth, throat, bladder, pancreas,
cervix, kidneys, stomach, breasts and bone cancers.
Need help quitting? Go online to youtube.com and type how to quit smoking
in the search bar. This tip also applies to those who don’t smoke but are still
exposed to it (second-hand smoke).
3) Sip Tea-
Take after Southern belles and drink mint tea. Mint contains phytochemicals,
which cut off the flow of blood and nutrients to tumors, starving them without
harming healthy cells.
To make a cup: Place, fresh (and clean) mint leaves in a mug, add some very hot
water, leave it alone for 3 to 5 mins. After that, remove the leaves, add some Ice and
and a sweetener, (Stevia or dark honey). For a whole pitcher, just increase the amounts,
let cool and place the pitcher in the refrigerator.
4) Drink The Peels-
In other words, add some of the lemon peel to your glass (or pitcher) of
lemonade. Compounds in both lemons and the peels halve the risk of
several cancers.
5) Drink Better Water-
If you drink tap water or bottled water, you may want to buy a water filter.
Why? According to researchers, you can reduce your risk of several cancers
by drinking a better quality of water.

6) No Mayo or Mustard-
Well, you can still enjoy mayo and mustard, but you may also want to dress up
a sandwich with horseradish. The spicy condiment stops cancer-cell growth
as much as 65%. Horseradish contains compounds that increase the liver’s
ability to destroy carcinogens.
7) The Side Dish-
If you enjoy your frankfurters (hot dogs) with sauerkraut, please continue to
indulge. Why? It’s a fermented food and that means it’s loaded with cancer-fighting
compounds. Pickles and relish also count as fermented foods.
8) Grill This Way-
On low or medium, charring foods (burgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob)
to a blackened state, exposes you to a host of cancer-causing chemicals.
Also helpful- marinade your chicken or veggies in beer or pickle juice
before grilling (for an hour or 3 hours) and you reduce the number of
cancer-causing chemicals considerably.
