Hey Ladies, are you over 50 and still struggling with extra weight around your
middle? Or do you suffer from hot flashes and other symptoms associated
with menopause?
Well, believe it or not, there’s a diet out there that may be able to help you slim
down and relieve those hot flashes.
The Diet: A plant-based diet.

Yes, researchers have said that the Mediterranean diet and the dash diet
are great for both men and women, but thanks to a new documentary
on Netflix, the plant-based diet may be the diet that helps you get slim
and trim (and healthy) once and for all.

The Documentary:
“You are what you Eat: A Twin Experiment.”
The producers and Stanford researchers put identical twins on 2 different
diets, one a plant-based diet and the other an Omnivorous food plan and
after 8 weeks, the twins on plant-based diets came out on top on
almost all tests.
The results:
Those on plant-based diets lowered cholesterol, cut insulin by 20% or more,
doubled their weight loss and became biologically younger.

But wait, there’s more-
The plant-based twins also experienced better breathing, more mental
clarity, energy levels increased and they were able to get to sleep earlier and
stay asleep for more hours.

So, are you convinced?
Are you willing to go plant-based for at least 4 to 8 weeks?
Well, if you are willing, you can get all of the help you need
with recipes, motivation and support groups all courtesy of
the internet.
Just head to YouTube. com and type Dr. Michael Greger,

Another tip: Head to Facebook and look for plant-based sites and
join one and lastly, for tasty recipes using a wide range of foods-
also go to youtube.com and look for any number of great and delicious
recipes.
Important tip:
Men, you may think this diet is only for women, but men are
also able to improve their health, lose weight and get rid of
a host of health problems, so join your wife, mom, sister or girlfriend
and adopt the same diet.

And lastly,
To start you on your plant-based journey, here’s a recipe for a quick
stir-fried dish that helps you use up that leftover brown or white rice.

The Recipe:
Quickie Rice Stir-Fry!
Ingredients:
2 Tbs. low-sodium soy sauce or Tamari
2 Tbs. of natural sweetener, (use coconut sugar, authentic
maple syrup or raw honey)
Siracha to taste
1/2 cup of vegetable broth
16 oz. of vegetables, (use spincah, kale, Arugula, or buy a bag of
mixed vegetables)
2 cups of edamame
3 to 4 cups of leftover rice (brown or white)
To make:
Whisk the siracha, soy sauce and sweetener together; set it aside
Heat up a skillet (to medium high,) add the broth and then toss in
the vegetables, stir until the vegetables are crisp. Add the Edamame
and the sauce. You can toss in the rice or reheat it in another pot
and finish up by placing a cup of rice on 4 different plates and then
add the vegetables and sauce on top of each plate.
