You may not have been around thirty or forty years ago, so you’re probably not familiar
with the slightly bland tasting protein that was used by housewives and bodybuilders
alike.

The protein:
Cottage Cheese!
That’s right, served in diners, restaurants and cafeterias, a serving of cottage cheese
with some fruit was considered an ideal meal for those hoping to lose
weight or maintain their weight, well fast forward to 2023 and it (cottage cheese)
is making a comeback.

Not only is it being hailed as a powerful weight loss tool, that can really increase
your metabolism, but it can also benefit the over 50 crowd, who find it
extremely difficult to take off the extra pounds.

And something even better:
A lot of women are praising it (C.C.) as protein-packed, no need to cook it and
budget-friendly and it controls your hunger as well as pricier protein choices
like chicken, steak, and pork ribs.

So, if weight loss is proving to be harder now that you’re over 50 or 60,
perhaps incorporating more cottage cheese into your meals, may be
the only weight-loss miracle you need.

And to help you in your quest on this weight-loss journey, here are some
recipes using the cheap and filling protein called cottage cheese.

First up, Breakfast.
If you enjoy a decadent type of scrambled eggs, and noticing the scale
isn’t moving, toss out the sliced ham, fatty bacon, cheddar or provolone
cheese and scramble 2 eggs with 1/2 cup of cottage cheese in olive or
avocado oil over medium heat.

Eat This Type of Toast-
If you enjoy heavily buttered toast or avocado toast, put them aside for
a few months and use cottage cheese. To make: Mash or blender-whip
cottage cheese, (add a few spices, hot sauce or mustard) and spread on
two slices of toast or a bagel.

Eat a Filling Dinner-
You may want that chicken breast or 6 oz. steak for dinner, but what your
body (waistline) wants is pasta.
The recipe for Slimming Cottage Cheese Pasta!
Ingredients:
16 oz. cottage cheese
1 cup of Parmesan cheese
1 Tbs. of Italian seasoning
1 tsp. of minced garlic
4 servings of cooked protein pasta or gluten-free pasta
To lower the calorie count even more-use spiralized zucchini
To make:
In a blender, blend the cheeses, seasonings and garlic until very
smooth. 1 to 2 mins. Pour this mixture into a skillet over medium heat.
Once it’s simmering, stir in your pasta or zucchini. Add some salt, pepper
or turmeric. Enough for 4 servings.

Room for Dessert-
If you’re not too stuffed and have room for dessert, make a pudding.
A cottage-cheese pudding. To make: Blend 16 oz. of cottage cheese
until smooth. Blitz in 1 Tbs. of cocoa powder, 1/4 cup of a healthy sweetener,
(monk fruit) and 1 tsp. of vanilla extract.

There you have it, some information and recipes using the new and improved
protein powerhouse known as cottage cheese.
