Are you affected by heartburn?
Well, don’t despair, you’re not alone.
Researchers say that the people suffering from heartburn
has increased by 45% in the last 10 years.

Why is this happening?
Researchers think it’s the poor eating habits, (i.e. junk food
and fast food) and extra weight (especially around our midsections).

So, if you’re one of the millions who suffer from heartburn and want
something natural and non-medicinal, try one of the tips listed below.

a) ACV-
Also known as apple cider vinegar. This special elixir has been recommended
for heartburn for decades and for good reason: It works. Mixing 1 Tbs. of A.C.V.
with a glass of water and drinking it before meals can ease even chronic heartburn.
Cider vinegar’s natural acids speeds digestion, so food and stomach acid don’t
have time to back up into the esophagus.
For the best results: Choose an unpasteurized A.C.V. from a well-stocked grocery
store or a health-food store. Brand to try: Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.
b) Spice of Life-
In other words, eat more spices, not less. Adding something like cumin and cayenne
pepper to an egg dish or soup recipe can enhance digestion and speed stomach
emptying, quashing heartburn attacks in a matter of days.
How is this possible? Different spices increase digestive enzymes production by
25%, plus the compounds that make your mouth burn when you eat spicy foods
act exactly like a painkiller in your stomach.
c) Supplemental Help-
You just read about adding more spices, but one spice may work better than OTC and
prescription meds, the spice: Ginger. In fact, a ginger supplement may bring
about relief in a matter of weeks.
Add ginger to soups and stir-fries, but if you want to forgo the spice,
ask your doctor about taking a 1,000-mg. dose of it.
d) Supplemental Help Pt. 2-
If you’re taking medication for your heartburn, you may want to take
vitamin B-12. Why? Heartburn stalls B-12 absorption, doubling your risk
of a deficiency, So if you’re taking medication for heartburn, ask your
doctor if it’s okay to take 1,000 mcg. of vitamin B-12 daily.
e) Think About Going-
Low Carb. Yes, it’s always recommended as a way to lose weight, but now
researchers say that cutting back on carbohydrates can help end heartburn
flareups as effectively as a doctor-prescribed reflux med.
Doctors say that carbs fuel the growth of stomach damaging H. pylori bacteria.
So it only makes sense to cut way down on carbs, which will help bacteria levels
plunge, and allow your stomach to heal and function properly.

f) Take Some “Me” Time-
If you work well into the night doing laundry, cleaning, checking
homework and making lunches for the next day, this may be the cause
of your heartburn.
Your Rx For Relief: Take the evenings off and read a book, enjoy a
bath, or play board games with the kids and you can cut stomach acid
secretions and heartburn flareups by 10%.
