Are you the type that likes to use ketchup on almost everything?
You know, eggs, steak, burritos, rice, etc.

Well, take a break and use that ketchup for something other than
eating, like what, you ask?

The Top 10 Brilliant Uses For Ketchup (Catsup)!

1) Help For The Car!
Have the warm weather pests (mosquitoes, gnats and flies) left your
grille or headlights looking less than spectacular?
Cover the bug-infested areas with ketchup and let it alone for 15 to 20
mins. After that, just wipe down the headlights or grille with a soft
bristled brush for a minute or two and then rinse off with water
and buff dry with a clean rag. The vinegar in ketchup breaks down
the stuck-on bug splatters.

2) Renew The Garden Tools-
Are your garden tools looking worn out and rusty?
Use this: Fill a spray bottle with water and 2 Tbs. of borax.
Spray onto the tools, then cover with a thick layer of ketchup.
Leave on for 2 hours and then wash off or rub off with a clean rag.
Ketchup and borax will create a chemical reaction that’ll dissolve the rust.

3) Sit Outdoors In Peace-
If you attract bees while dining outdoors and you want to put a stop to it,
discontinue using chemically-damaging bug sprays, and try this…
Place some ketchup on saucers or paper plates and leave on a table
or chairs about 10 or more yards from where you and your guests will
be sitting. The bees will pick up on the scent of corn syrup in the Ketchup
and they’ll attack that and not you or your food.
Another tip: You can also leave out a few cans of almost-finished cans of soda.

4) Make Your Own Sauce!
No need to buy a pricey sauce for your baby-back ribs or London broil
this Memorial day (or 4th of July), make your own using that ketchup
you have in the pantry. To make: Combine 1/2 cup of ketchup with
1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 tsp. of hot pepper sauce (Jack’s or Tabasco).
Mix well and spread on steak, chicken or Barbecue.
Ketchup will provide a tangy kick, plus tenderize the meat.

5) Heal Boo-Boos With The Red Condiment!
Not able to get to a pack of Ice to alleviate some type of ache or pain?
No problem, just freeze some ketchup packets and take out of the freezer
and place over your bumps and scrapes. Using smaller packets of ketchup
will work better than a large freezer bag of ice, especially if the bump
isn’t that large.

6) Heal That Damaged Hair!
If you do a lot of swimming in chlorinated pools, then you may have
a green tint to your hair. To fix this- apply a few squirts of ketchup to
your hair, combing it in to distribute evenly. Leave on for 15 to 20 mins.
and then shampoo and rinse as you normally do. The citric acid
in ketchup neutralizes the copper-oxide deposits from chlorine that causes
hair discoloration.

7) Soothing Relief For Bug Bites!
Have some red spots and welts on your skin after spending
time outdoors? Avoid the pricey and chemically-enhanced
over-the-counters products and just apply ketchup to the
itchy mosquito bites. Leave on for 3 mins. and then rinse off.
Ketchup works, thanks to the acidity in it, and this acidity alters the
pH levels of the skin, which helps minimize the itching and irritations.

8) A Stand-In For Future Painters!
If you tire of spending money on finger-paint for your kids, or you
fear they’ll eat the finger paints, use ketchup as a substitute.
Place some ketchup on a paper or ceramic plate and let your
future Picasso paint away. Kids will still be able to paint and you won’t
have to worry about them trying to ingest something that’s nontoxic.

9) What’s Old is New Again!
Do you have copper pots that look like they’re ready for the trash bin?
Hold on to them and apply some ketchup to the bottom of the pots
and let it sit for 5 to 10 mins. Ketchup’s acetic acid cuts through
the stubborn tarnish to reveal a bright shine.

10) Homemade Beauty Product!
Save money on beauty products and use the product already in your
pantry (or cupboard). Simply apply a thin layer of ketchup to your face,
leave on for 15 minutes, lie back and relax. After 15 mins. rinse the ketchup
off with warm water. Ketchup contains antioxidants which help nourish the
skin, while its acids provide a gentle chemical exfoliation.
Important tip: You may want to apply a small amount of ketchup to your
face or arm and wait to see if there will be any kind of reaction.
