The Leftover Adult Beverage Rxs For Skin and Hair!
Become more good looking and youthful during this “Dry January!”
Another year is upon us and for many that means a number of things: shedding weight,
getting our affairs in order, (money and health issues), stopping bad habits, i.e. smoking,
drinking or watching too much television and then there are those who want to change
their looks.
Change your looks?
Yes, and we’re not necessarily talking about cosmetic surgery. Looking more fit and
youthful is a concern not just for Americans, but for women (and some men) around
the world and if this is something you’re hoping for in the new year, then you may
want to turn to your liquor cabinet or liquor store.
Liquor cabinet or store, what?
That’s right, hold onto that bottle of champagne or whiskey and use it to
enhance your beauty.
Still not convinced?

Researchers have found that some of your favorite adult beverages are loaded
with anti-aging nutrients that, when applied directly to your skin, can help you
look years younger. And listed below, are the adult beverages and their benefits.
a) Grab a Beer-
Yes, it can quench thirst on a 90 degree day, and it can also thicken your locks (hair).
The malt in beer is packed with proteins that attract moisture into hair’s cuticle,
nourishing and strengthening hair to end the breakage that leaves it looking thin.
Plus, the B vitamins in beer fortify the strands at the root to reduce shedding.
To get the benefits: Use a warm beer and while standing in the shower, pour
the beer into your hair, massage it in and place a shower cap on your head.
Leave the cap on for 20 minutes, then remove and wash out the beer with
your favorite shampoo. Or just skip this process and buy a beer-infused
shampoo.
The shampoo: Redken Brews Daily Shampoo, find it online at Ulta.com.
b) A Toast To The New Year-
If you really want to invite good luck and good health in the new year,
drink some champagne. If your hair is starting to lack luster, add it
back with champagne. Champagne contains amino acids and these
amino acids can seal and smooth out the hair’s cuticle. This helps
hair better reflect light for a healthy-looking sheen. What’s more,
champagne has antioxidants that form a protective barrier over hair so
it stays smooth and lustrous long-term.
To use leftover champagne: Use the tip listed in the previous post, but
if you don’t have any champagne, try a product called Cuvee Beauty Air
Dry Mist trial size, purchase online at CuveeBeauty.com.
c) Wine and No Wrinkles-
You don’t need the first of the year to drink wine, many people have
an evening glass year round and if you’re noticing more fine lines
and crevices, make a rose^ wine facial.
The combination of grapes (the compound Resveratrol, promotes skin-firming
collagen production) and strawberries, ( which contains folic acid, a B vitamin
that repairs damaged cells and encourages new, healthy skin growth).
And making a rose^ wine face mask will leave your complexion looking
smoother and youthful.
To use:
Clean your face and then apply a little rose wine on your face, neck and back
of hands. Leave on for 15 to 20 mins. and then rinse off with warm water.
Also important: Do a patch test first, on your arm or wrist, just to see how
your skin reacts.
Or buy a product that’s already prepared, the product: Patchology Serve
Chilled Rose^ Sheet Mask, find it online at Patchology.com.
d) A Shot of Whisky-
Whiskey can be strong and in this case, you’ll need something stronger than a
beer or glass of wine especially when it comes to acne on the back also known
as “Bacne.” Antibacteriall whiskey helps kill acne-causing bacteria and unclogs
pores, while its anti-inflammatory properties calm the redness associated with
breakouts.
To use:
Using whiskey on your back may be too strong for some, and if you already
have breakouts, then you may want to use whiskey-infused soap.
The soap: Swag Brewery Soap Kentucky Bourbon Boxed, online at
SwagBrewery.com
e) The Japanese Beverage-
If you were fortunate enough to be in Japan during the new year,
let’s hope you also brought home a souvenir. The souvenir: Sake!
The fermented wine, can help you get rid of embarrassing age spots.
Sake contains kojic acid, which gently exfoliates skin, removing dead,
discolored cells to reveal brighter, more even-toned skin beneath them.
Another benefit: Sake inhibits the enzyme that produces skin’s pigment
to keep new spots from coming to the surface.
To use: Before starting this Rx, do a patch test. Rub a little sake on your
wrist or the top of the hand and look for a reaction. If there’s no reaction,
rub sake on the brown spots on your face, neck, shoulders and back of hands.
Leave on for 15 to 20 mins. and then rinse off. Do this procedure 2 to 3 times
a week.
No sake at home? Go online to iHerb.com and type Skinfood Peach Sake Toner
in the search bar.
That’s it- your guide for using up leftover New Year’s eve liquor for youth
and beauty.
