You may not know that cooking and all that goes into it, like the cutting, chopping,
washing the vegetables and stirring, can actually bolster your health.
Some researchers say that doing all of the things necessary to put a meal on the
table can be meditative and therapeutic, and today, they’re also saying the same
thing about baking.

That’s right, if you’re one who enjoys baking cookies, muffins or pies for the
homeless, your coworkers, bake sales or family and friends, give yourself a
pat on the back, because you’re doing more than filling their bellies, you’re
also improving your own health. How so?

a) Boosting Happiness-
Whether you’re baking a ton of cookies or decorating a cake, getting creative
with food can boost your moods and happiness levels.
b) Lower Stress Levels-
As mentioned earlier, preparing meals and desserts is like meditation for
some and if your stress levels start to rise, start baking. Focusing on
preparing recipes can soothe frazzled nerves and lower stress levels.
c) A Confidence Builder-
Have kids that lack confidence? They may not feel comfortable taking up a sport
to gain that confidence, but baking can boost their confidence levels. Another benefit:
Sharing baked goods with others not only makes them feel loved, it’ll also increase
your self esteem.

So, if you plan on baking this holiday season, don’t feel guilty or overwhelmed
by it, just remember the three tips listed above.
