Grill your way to better health this Summer season!

Many of us will bring out the grills in the next week or two (Memorial day) and if
you grill, make sure it’s the usual go-to meats: burgers, chicken and salmon.

Why the above meats?
They’re loaded with zinc and that’s key since this mineral is used by the body to
manufacture something called Brain-derived neurotrophic factor, (BDNF).

What is that, you ask?
It’s an amazing brain chemical that stimulates brain cells growth and repair,
plus, it (zinc) improves cell-to-cell signaling.
And the more zinc you get, you’ll really optimize (BDNF), which cuts the risk
of memory loss by 50%, curbs the odds of fatigue and blue moods by 47%
and strengthens your muscles by 35%.

So, if you’re dreading the aging process and worried about memory loss,
depression and your muscles deteriorating, stop the pity party and have
that chicken kebab, juicy burger or salmon with lemon butter this upcoming
holiday and you’ll increase your levels of these special brain chemicals by 40%.
in less than 4 months.

And as an extra bonus treat, here’s a recipe for a Pimiento Cheese-Stuffed Burger.
This can be made on the grill or indoors (in the oven).
Ingredients:
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
1 tsp. of hot sauce
1/2 tsp. of soy sauce
1/4 tsp. of smoked or regular paprika
1 lb. of ground beef
1 onion, grated
1/4 cup of pimiento cheese
4 hamburger buns
Assorted toppings- lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, relish and ketchup
To make:
Heat the grill for medium-direct heat cooking. In a bowl, combine the mayo,
hot sauce, soy sauce and paprika. In another bowl, combine the hamburger
with 1/4 cup of the sauce mixture, the onion, 1/2 tsp. of salt and 1/4 tsp. of
black pepper.
Divide the hamburger into 8 round balls and shape into patties.
Place 1 Tbs. of pimiento cheese on each of the 4 patties and top with
the remaining 4 patties. Seal up the edges (to hold in the cheese) and
grill for 4 or 5 minutes, per side and then place on buns with the remaining
sauce and the toppings of your choice.
Enough for 4 servings.

And one last tip:
If you’re one the millions who aren’t fans of the above mentioned
foods and want to prevent muscle loss, brain aging and blue moods,
you can get zinc from the following…
Pumpkin seeds
Cashews
Turkey
Crab
Cheddar Cheese
Flaxseed and/or flaxseed oil
