Most people think that gout (painful joints, especially the big toes) only happens
in the fall and winter when many people toss out their diet and exercise plans
and eat their favorite foods for a few months, but this isn’t true.

According to recent reports, many people suffer gout in the Summer, mainly
because they increase their intake of meat and seafood.
It (gout) is also common in the Summer due to dehydration.

Meat and seafood contain purines-compounds that raise levels of gout-triggering
uric acid. Luckily, there’s a solution and it’s available at your grocery store.
The solution: More fruit, especially citrus fruit, tomatoes (yes, they’re fruit) and kiwi.

Why these fruits?
They’re rich in vitamin C, an important vitamin that flushes out painful uric
acid in your joints.
And there’s one more benefit of adding these fruits to your diet, the benefit:
Hydration.

Especially important to those who can’t remember or just can’t drink 6 to 8
glasses of water a day.

And lastly, also remember to stay cool.
Too much time in the summer and early fall heat can raise the risk of gout
by 40%.

So, there you have it, reduce your risk of gout by eating more vitamin-C
rich produce and try your best to stay cool.
