Are you one who spends a small fortune on creams, lotions, potions and even surgery in
the hopes of looking 10 or more years younger?
Well, before breaking the bank, you may want to visit your local farmers’ market.

The Farmers’ Market?
Yes, you can use fruits to help turn back the (aging)clock.
Still, not convinced?

a) Watermelon-
Eat a slice to hydrate yourself in the months of June, July and August
and then place a slice in your juicer (or blender) along with 2 Tbs. of
water and 1 Tbs. of honey. Lie back and then spread this mixture on your
chest. Watermelon is loaded with vitamin A, and it’s the vitamin that increases
collagen production to firm up a crepey chest. And pairing it with honey,
helps plump up the skin, making the decolletage appear more youthful.

b) Cantaloupe-
Need some relief after overdoing it under the Sun?
Well, you can try some plain yogurt or an over-the-counter remedy or
pick up a cantaloupe and juice a slice or two in a juicer,
with a little water, (strain the liquid, then saturate a washcloth with
the juice and apply it to the affected areas). Cantaloupe has
antioxidants that absorb into the skin to speed up the healing process.
Another tip: Want to lower your odds of getting skin cancer?
Eat more red fruits like…Red grapefruit, guava, tomatoes (especially cooked),
and watermelon. (reread our past post on watermelon and its ability to prevent
skin cancer).

c) Strawberries-
Strawberries can benefit your looks in two ways and they are…
Reduce those unsightly age spots and whiten your teeth.
The combination of vitamin C and ellagic acid in the berries help
brighten dark spots. To get rid of age spots, mix 1 or (2) strawberries|
with 1/2 Tbs. of sugar. Massage onto damp hands or your face for
a minute or two. Let sit for a few mins. and then rinse off with warm water.
As for the teeth. Cut a strawberry in half and use it like you would a toothbrush.
Do this a few times a week for a minute or two.

d) Cucumbers-
Is your hair thinning? Well, you may want to eat more cucumbers and make
cucumber masks. Cucumbers contain silica, a trace mineral that contributes to
the fullness and thickness of your hair.
To make a mask, place a few slices in the blender along with a little water,
blend until smooth and place on the scalp. If the mask runs, put a shower
cap on your head. Leave on for 15 mins. and then rinse off with lukewarm
water.
Another tip: The 2nd Farmers’ market tip for thicker hair- eat more green beans.
That’s it- 4 popular fruits to enhance your youth and beauty.
