The shorter days and colder temperatures are almost here and if you experience
weight gain during this time, you may want to add the popular fall fruit to your
daily regimen.

The Fall Fruit?
Cranberries.
Researchers have revealed that a lot of women and some men over 50 have
sluggish lymphatic systems, which can cause sore joints, swollen fingers,
uncomfortable bloat and hard-to-lose pounds. But digestive acids in cranberries
and the juice break down the toxins and proteins that clog the lymphatic
system to speed the removal of excess fluids and fat-packing toxins, helping
women and (men) drop as much as 5 to 7 pounds in 10 days or less.

To get the benefits, buy fresh cranberries, clean them and add them to
a pot of water. Simmer for a few minutes, (just until the fruit’s skin bursts)
turn off the heat and add a 1/4 tsp. of turmeric or ground ginger.
Pour into a clean bottle and sip throughout the day.
And if you still need help making your own “fresh” cranberry
juice, go to youtube.com and type recipe for fresh cranberry
juice in the search bar. Or skip this process altogether and buy
a bottle of unsweetened cranberry juice, (combine 4 of cranberry
juice and mix with 25 oz. of water) and sip this throughout the day.

One last tip:
Fresh cranberries will go on sale in the next 4 weeks, so be sure to
stock up. Buy extra bags and throw them in the freezer and when you
need them, take them out the freezer, thaw out, clean them (with water and
a pinch of baking soda and white vinegar) rinse and then cook or juice them.
Buy fresh cranberries on sale at Aldi and Trader Joe’s.
