Here are 3 traditional sweet treats that are served during Hanukkah,
and the best part: You don’t even have to be Jewish to enjoy these
delicacies.

Sweet Treat No. 1-
Apricot and Nutella Rugelach!
Bite into this treat and you’ll be seduced by two types of filling.
Ingredients:
1 package of refrigerated piecrust dough (14 to 16 oz.)
2 Tbs. of apricot jam
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbs. of almonds, chopped
2 Tbs. of hazelnut-chocolate spread (Nutella)
2 Tbs. of chopped pecans
To make: Heat the oven to 350*F.
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Unroll 1 piecrust dough;
roll out to 12″ round. Spread with jam, leaving 1/4″ border around the edge.
Cut into 8 wedges.Starting with wider side, roll up jelly-roll style.
Transfer to baking sheet. Curve edges in to form crescent shape;
flatten center slightly. Brush with egg; sprinkle with chopped almonds.
Bake until golden, about 20 mins. Let cool down completely.
Repeat with remaining piecrust dough; hazelnut-chocolate spread,
egg and chopped pecans.
Calories- 135 per treat. 2 g. of carb and 15 g. of fiber.

Sweet Treat No. 2-
Double Chocolate Babka!
You’ll not only be transfixed by the beauty of this dessert,
you’ll also be taken in by its deliciousness.

Ingredients:
2 tsp. instant yeast
3/4 cup of milk, (warmed)
3/4 cup of sugar
3 egg yolks
8 Tbs. butter, leave it out at room temperature for a few hours
3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
6 oz. of dark chocolate, melted
1/2 cup of cocoa powder
To make: In a bowl, mix yeast, milk and 1/2 cup of sugar;
leave it alone for 10 mins. Get out the mixer and on low speed,
beat the yolks and 6 Tbs. of butter, then the flour and beat on
medium for 5 to 7 mins. Grease a loaf pan with butter or Pam
cooking spray. Mix chocolate, cocoa powder, remaining butter and sugar.
On floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4″ thick rectangle. Spread with
chocolate mixture; roll up, cut in half lengthwise. Twist pieces together.
Transfer to the pan. Let rise in a warm place.
Turn on the oven to 375*F. Bake the chocolate dessert for about 20 mins.
cover with foil; bake until baked through in center, about 35 to 40 mins.
Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
Calories per slice- 365 and 7 g. of carbs and 50 g. of fiber

Sweet Treat No. 3-
Raspberry-Filled Jelly Donuts!
Save money by making your own jelly-filled donuts.
Vegetable or Canola oil
1 tube of Grands Southern Homestyle Biscuits
2/3 cups of raspberry, blueberry or strawberry jam
Confectioners’ sugar (optional)
To make:
In a deep pot, heat 2″ of oil over medium heat until deep-frying
thermometer reads at 325*F or until it’s shimmering. Line a baking
sheet with paper towels. Working with 2 or 3 at a time, drop biscuits
into oil. Fry, flipping once, until golden brown and cooked through in
centers, about 2 min. per side. Transfer to paper towels on baking sheet.
Let cool.
Now, prepare the filling.
In a small bowl, stir the jam until smooth. Transfer to a pastry bag:*
Snip 1/4″ opening at the bottom. Cut small slit or poke hole through
side of each donut; pipe in jam. If desired and calories don’t matter,
sprinkle each donut with some confectioners’ sugar.
Calories for each donut- 270, 3g of carbs and 45g. of fiber.

That’s it, 3 sweet treats for those who are celebrating Hanukkah and
for those who aren’t celebrating it, but just love sweet treats.
* Don’t have a pastry bag? No problem, just fill a small plastic ziploc
bag and snip one corner off and fill it with dough.
