Celebrate Dad this Sunday!

This Sunday many of us will be celebrating our dads and if you plan on having
some type of get-together (Barbecue), then you may want to use the tips
listed below.

The tips:
The 3 best sauces for chicken, pork and beef and how to score some savings.
First up, save money on food and spend more on dad’s gift (s).
1) Buying Meat-
You’re expecting 10, 20 or even more people this Sunday and now you’re
freaking out over the price for all of that chicken, beef and pork.
Relax- there’s a way to save and all it requires you to do is head to Costco.
Stop by the meat dept. and ask about buying meat in the Cryovac bag-(a sealed
bag that many meats are delivered in that allows them to stay frozen longer),
so they’re fresher when thawed out. This bag isn’t on the floor, but ask for, and buy
the entire bag and you’ll get the meat for a reduced price. An example: Spareribs
may go for $2.50 pound, but in the bag, it may go for $1.95 pound. Use this insider
secret not only for Dad’s special day, but for the whole Summer.

2) Adult Beverages-
Another cost that can go up quickly: Adult beverages- and if you do plan on
having “grown-up” beverages, you may want to try big-batch cocktails.
What are they, you ask, simply put-you mix watermelon, (make it into juice),
and then add some lemonade and vodka. Take a few pitchers of lemonade,
add some balled fresh watermelon and some of the juice and a small bottle
of vodka in a big bowl, stir and enjoy. And one last tip-make sure to buy plenty
of Ice. Need more recipes or odd combos? Go online to Google or Pinterest.com
and type adult Punch recipes in the search bar.

Now onto the 3 best sauces to dress up those chicken legs, pulled pork
and spareribs-(beef and pork).
a) Chicken-
Try something other than barbecue sauce on your chicken this year, the
new sauce: Alabama White. It’s a perfect blend of cider vinegar, horseradish
and cracked black pepper with a mayonnaise base, this sauce is great on
chicken and meat. Another tip: Use this sauce for coleslaw and salad dressing.
One to try: Duke’s Alabama White BBQ, price $4 for 12 oz.

b) Ribs-
If ribs or brisket are on the grill this Sunday, dress them up with a Tennessee
barbecue sauce. Thinner than traditional BBQ sauces, this mixture blends onions,
garlic, ketchup, molasses and whiskey to create a delicious concoction.
Sauce to buy: Tennessee Whiskey Hot & Spicy Barbecue Sauce, price $9 for 16 oz.

c) Pork-
This is a sauce for those who prefer pulled pork, steak or chicken tenders.
The sauce is a Carolina Mustard that gets its sweetness from brown sugar
and a little bit of heat from Cayenne pepper. The best one to try: Braswell’s
Carolina Tangy Mustard BBQ Sauce, price-$7 for 13.5 oz bottle.

That’s it, some simple tips to make this Father’s day, a rip-roaring success.

Good Luck!
