Plan on having a Charcuterie board this Christmas or New Year’s Eve?
And for those out there who aren’t sure what a Charcuterie board is,
just think of a display of cured meats or cheeses.

Gaining in popularity these last few years, the boards now include
cheeses and accompanientments that pair well with with meats
and cheeses, such as fruit, olives, nuts, spreads, etc.

So, if you’re familiar with Charcuterie boards and plan on making one this
year or if this is your first time and need some help setting out a
Charcuterie board that wins rave reviews.

Step No.1-
Choose The Cheeses-
The winning formula for picking the right cheeses.
Go for cheeses in a variety of textures. For instance, pair together a hard
manchego, soft brie and crumbly feta. Another tip: Bring cheese to room temperature
before serving–doing this helps release oils for more flavor, plus makes them easier
to cut and spread. Just return to the refrigerator after 4 hours.

Step No. 2-
Choose The Meats-
Make your board look more decorative with salami roses. Fold salami slices
halfway over the rim of a glass, overlapping as you go and covering the rim completely
twice. Flip glass upside down onto board, lift off glass and there you have it,
folded salami. Surround the salami with softer meats like prosciutto, and
pair with condiments like honey and fruit jam for a sweet-and-salty combination.
Helpful tip: If you have trouble making salami roses, head to youtube.com and

Step No. 3-
Choose The Extras-
Now it’s time to have fun and make your board look really appealing and to do that,
add bite-size treats like salty olives, (black ) green olives filled with peanut butter
and brie. Stuffed mini peppers. Another helpful tip: Serve some foods in small finger
bowls so they’re easy for guests to grab. FIll in any remaining open areas on the board
with dried and fresh fruit, nuts, crackers, then add bright pops of green- meaning
put out some sprigs of rosemary and thyme.

That’s it, some simple tips to help make your Charcuterie board a roaring success this
holiday season.
