Reduce Chronic Inflammation With a Grain!
Step aside oatmeal and brown rice.
Want to be the first to buy and eat the grain that some are saying will be the new
brown rice or oatmeal of 2024?
This whole grain is not only similar to oatmeal it can also be used as a stand-in
for rice in Risotto.
But wait, there’s more, not only does this grain taste great, it can also help the
millions of people out there who suffer from chronic inflammation.
Some inflammation is normal, but chronic inflammation can increase your
odds of heart disease, type-2 diabetes and certain cancers.
So, what is this grain that’s been named the top grain to lower inflammation
levels?
It’s Farro.
It (farro) is rich in fiber, which aids in detoxifying and maintaining a
healthy gut microbiome, a critical component for a robust immune
system and controlling inflammation.
Plus, farro is rich in antioxidants, like carotenoids, as well as tocotrienols.
Carotenoids are yellow, orange and red ped pigments typically found in
veggies like carrots and bell peppers.
That’s it, and if reducing chronic inflammation and maintaining a healthy
gut microbiome, are concerns to you, adopt more of a Mediterranean diet,
(plenty of fruit, nuts, seeds, vegetables, plain yogurt, fish, lean meats and
whole grains) and start eating this new “super grain” known as Farro.
Look for farro at major supermarkets like Publix, Kroger’s, Whole Foods,
Stop N’ Shop and Shoprite.
Or look for it at Trader Joe’s or go online to Amazon.com and order a box
or two.
And lastly, if you want some interesting recipes for farro, type slow cooker
Italian Vegetable & Farro soup or slow cooker overnight Farro Porridge
or Farro Risotto with mushrooms & greens in the google or duck-duck
go search bar.
