Simply put, if you’ve given up the tasty sauce due to the high calorie
count, it’s time to put it back on the menu.

Thanks to a food network star, the recipe for the following Pesto
sauce has 30% fewer calories.
And the food network star who has gifted us with such a recipe:
Giada De Laurentiis.

Her secret: She uses avocados instead of the fattening oil.
Her recipe: In a blender or Nutri-Bullet, puree 2 peeled and pitted
avocados, 3 cups of baby arugula or spinach, 1 cup of fresh basil
leaves, 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1/2 of toasted almonds,
the juice of 1 lime and 1 clove of garlic. After blending, test it to see
if it needs salt and pepper. Use this on a bowl of your favorite pasta,
or zoodles (spiralized zucchini noodles, or baked sweet or reg. potatoes,
egg dishes, baked chicken,burgers, salmon or a fresh salad.
