Yes, good, quality food can help prevent a host of illnesses and keep
you well, but sometimes you may need something other than food
and that other something is outside, i.e. the great outdoors aka
Mother Nature.

That’s right, the sun and the ground can help you in two ways.
The two ways: Keep headaches at bay and lessen aches and pains.
Still not convinced?
Read on, for more info.

1) The Sun-
Health-care professionals have gone back on their earlier stances of
don’t go outside unless you have sunscreen on and today-many say
that allowing your skin to soak in the Sun for 15 to 25 mins. without
sunscreen, will bolster your health in a number of ways and if headache
pain is a constant in your life, get outside and get some Sun.
Researchers say that spending just 15 mins. a day sitting outside (without
sunscreen) can cut your risk of headache flares in half. The researchers
say sun exposure boost levels of vitamin D3, which increases pain threshold,
reduce blood-vessel inflammation and keeps scalp muscles relaxed so painful
spasms are less likely to occur.

2) Grassy Surfaces-
If you’re bothered by aches and pains and only get relief from doctor-prescribed
or over-the-counter medicine, then you may be happy to know that walking outdoors
without shoes can help alleviate those aches and pains. Just walking outside for
10 minutes each day helps prevent muscle pain for up to 70% of people and it can
cut recovery time by 45% if you’re already achy. How does it work? Walking without
shoes outdoors stimulates acupressure points that relax tight muscles and improve
blood circulation to the extremities, so muscles are less likely to be strained during
motion. Plus, stimulating those acupressure points encourages the release of the
painkilling brain chemical serotonin.
One last tip: Another natural solution to alleviating aches and pains, hugging a tree
for 5 to 10 minutes.
