If you plan on cooking Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner at your home and
you’re concerned about having enough space, you’re in luck.
Listed below are some simple tips that will create the room you need to
cook and prep big meals.

a) Oven Space-
Cooking a number of dishes on the big day (Thanksgiving) can leave your
oven quite cluttered. So, to free up some space in the oven, let your air-fryer
and slow cooker assist you. Slow cookers are great for cooking mashed potatoes,
stuffing and casseroles. And air-fryers-can cook Brussels sprouts, carrots,
squash and dinner rolls.
Another tip:
Use shallow dishes rather than deep dishes in the oven. Not only does this
speed up cooking time, it also allows more racks in your oven. And lastly,
aim for roasting pans that are one inch deep or less for stuffing, potatoes
and casseroles.

b) Counter Space-
You can quickly overwhelm the counters with dishes, pots and pans and
then when guests bring dishes, you may have to use tables and other
furniture to accommodate the overflow. To counter too little counter space
use rolling-sheet pan racks-trays stacked one on top of the other-to help
stash foods that need to rise or cool. And the best part: save your money
and make your own rolling rack.
To make:
Take a metal file folder and turn it on its side-and now stack baking sheets,
cutting boards and flat pans all in one contained space until you’re ready to
cook or serve food. Need more room? Simply place a cutting board across
your sink to create “counter space.”
And one last tip:
Get out the Ironing board; remove the fabric cover and the bare metal grate
will work as a cooling rack for pies and other desserts.

c) More Refrigerator Space-
There’s no more room in the fridge, what do you do?
Head to the garage (or call relatives) and get out or ask
for a few coolers. Yes, the coolers that you took to the beach this
past summer, can now act like refrigerators. Fill coolers with salads,
beverages, ice, and fruit and vegetable platters. You’ll easily double
your fridge space and if you do use it for drinks, you won’t have to worry
about kids (and adults) running to the refrigerator every five mins.
Coolers take up much less space and can easily be squeezed into tight spots.

That’s it- 3 tips for creating more space for the upcoming holidays.
