Another St. Patrick’s day has come and gone and if you have
an extra (uncooked) Corned Beef and some stout beer leftover, you may
want to make the following recipe especially if you want thicker locks.

Yes, locks aka hair, can actually grow thanks to the protein from the corned
beef and stout beer. You may be familiar with beer shampoos, but are you aware
that in addition to pouring it (beer) over your hair, you can also cook with it.
The protein from both the meat and beer strengthen the strands at the roots
to thwart shedding so hair looks fuller.

So, now that you’re aware of how meat and beer can benefit your hair,
you can use this recipe to prevent hair shedding or keep your luscious locks
in tip-top shape.

The recipe:
Beer-Braised Corned Beef!
Ingredients:
3 lb. corned beef with the spice packet
1 bottle of stout beer (12 oz.)
1 large onion, quartered
6 sprigs of parsley, plus a little more for garnishment
2 garlic cloves, halved
1 bay leaf
Optional- cabbage, potatoes and carrots.
To make:
In a large Dutch oven or heavy bottom pot with lid, combine
corned beef and spice packet with the beer, onion, 6 parsley sprigs,
garlic and a bay leaf. Add enough cold water to cover the beef; and cook
over medium high heat, bring to a boil and then reduce heat and cover.
Simmer until fork tender, 3 to 3 1/2 hours, if you so desire, add cabbage
wedges and 3 or 4 peeled potatoes and/or carrots and cook for the last
20 to 30 mins.
After that, transfer the beef and vegetables to a platter and place a few
more sprigs of parsley over the tops and sides as a garnishment.
Leave the beef alone for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.
