Professional football player Tom Brady and actress Gwyneth Paltrow are back in the
news again and it’s not related to their professions.

They’re in the news again because of their diets.
What type of diet?

A diet that focuses on foods that neutralize or alkalize acid, in other words an anti-
inflammatory diet.

Mr. Brady has been eating this way for more than a decade and Ms. Paltrow says she
went overboard on foods (during the pandemic) that caused acid to build up in her system,
so now she wants to try and lower her inflammation levels by eating clean.

And according Hollywood insiders, Mr. Brady and Ms. Paltrow aren’t alone,
Kelly Ripa, has been doing this type of diet for close to 7 years and
singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson, has been a proponent of the
Dr. Steven Gundry diet plan for close to 4 yrs.

So, are you interested in lowering the inflammation levels in your body?
Well, listed below are the best foods and some recipes for those who
want to lower the acidity in their bodies and go the alkalizing route.

All leafy greens and lettuce

Green Beans
Lemon and Limes

a) Breakfast Smoothies-
No time for breakfast? Make this smoothie…
Green Smoothie-
In a blender, blitz 1 small bunch of spinach, juice of 1/2 lemon, 1/2
peeled cucumber, a few cilantro and parsley leaves, 1 cup of water,
1 scoop of plant-based protein powder, Ice and stevia to taste.
Blend until smooth. Enjoy with a slice of sprouted bread and 1 Tbs. of hummus
b) Lunch Options-
Quick-Fix Salad
Add some cut-up greens (spinach and romaine lettuce), bell peppers, cucumber,
celery, onion slices and beans, walnuts (cannellini or kidney) to a big bowl.
Top the salad with Guacamole or hummus.
Or have a Pesto Bowl-
In a food processor, blitz 3 cups of baby spinach, 1/4 cup of basil, 2 to 4 cloves
of garlic, and 1/4 cup of cashews. Slowly add 1/2 cup of olive oil, juice of 1/2
lemon, pinch of sea salt and pepper. Toss with 1 or 2 small spiralized zucchini,
and beans, (kidney or cannellini).
c) Dinner-
Kale Soup-
In a large pot, saute 1 chopped onion in 1 Tbs. coconut oil. Add 4 minced cloves
of garlic, 2 chopped carrots, 2 chopped celery sticks. and 2 bunches of kale,
(cut into thin ribbons) saute for 2 to 3 mins. Add some low-sodium vegetable
or chicken broth. Cook on medium-low heat for 15 to 20 mins.
Burrito Bowl-
Rinse and drain a can of Adzuki beans * and 2 sliced green onions, juice of 1 lime,
2 cloves of minced garlic, and 1/2 tsp. cumin, simmer. Serve over cooked quinoa,
and a few slices of avocado, and a few sprigs of cilantro. Add a green salad
if you’re still hungry.
d) Dessert-
Just because your eating “clean” doesn’t mean you have to give up dessert,
here’s a dessert for chocolate lovers.
Alkalizing Chocolate Mousse!
In a blender, place 1 1/2 avocados, 2/3 cup of coconut water, 1 Tbs. of vanilla extract,
2 Tbs. of raw cacao, 3 pitted dates ( or more for more sweetness) 1 tsp. of sea
salt. Blend until smooth, pour into 2 tall glasses and enjoy with spoons.
