Healthy Tips For Long- Distance Travelers!
Planning on traveling (by car) this Holiday season?
Well, use these tricks to stay healthy and safe.
a) Before Setting Off-
If you drive or even sit in the passenger side, you’ll want to prevent
blood clots. It may not be possible to stop every hour to get out and stretch
your legs, but you can take a natural supplement that’s just as effective.
The supplement: Pine bark extract. It reduces your risk of painful blood clots
also known as deep vein thrombosis. Take one capsule 3 hours before
leaving and a second dose 6 hours into your trip.
Product to try: Life Extension Veno Flow, order it online at LifeExtension.com/ww
Important tip: Talk to your doctor before taking any type of supplement.
b) Food Alternatives-
Before your trip, you can also eat foods that’ll help keep blood flowing smoothly.
The foods: Dark Chocolate and unsweetened grape juice. Both contain
healthy compounds that help prevent blood clots from forming and blood flowing
smoothly. Buy a top quality dark chocolate (70% to 85%) and grape juice.
Or buy black or dark purple grapes at your local grocery store. Start eating
and drinking, 1 to 2 weeks before heading to your destination.
c) Prevent Nausea-
If car sickness happens to you or a member of your family, bring along some
hand sanitizer. It eases queasiness. Sanitizer contains Isoproyl alcohol,
which engages your sense of smell to distract the brain and calms motion
sickness. Inhale the sanitizer, then exhale. Pause for 2 minutes and repeat.
Another tip:
Massage an inch or two under the base of the wrist, in the middle of the wrist.

in the search bar.
d) Bathroom Needs-
Planning on taking a long trip and you’ll have to go to the bathroom.
If you do, go to the first stall. Why? It’s the least germiest.
Another tip: Wait a minute after the last occupant leaves. Toilets
spew microscopic droplets into the air, which dissipates after 60 seconds.
e) Avoid Going To The Bathroom-
If you just want to stay on the road and avoid going to the bathroom,
snack on nuts. Pistachios, almonds, sunflower seeds and walnuts can
calm bladder spasms. Choose nuts with some spiciness. Chili peppers
contain capsaicin, which triples bladder capacity.
Another tip: Sip on cherry juice.
Buy tart cherry juice, pour 1/4 cup into a cup or glass, add some water, stir
and drink.
Cherries contain beneficial compounds that help you hold your urine and
prevent frequent bathroom trips.
f) Boost Blood Flow-
This was mentioned in the first tip, but you’ll want to stretch to keep the blood flowing,
helping you to prevent blood clots. One exercise you can do, before shutting the car door,
sit sideways with your legs out of the door.
Cross your right ankle over your left knee. Lean forward until you feel a stretch, hold for
10 seconds. Repeat with the opposite leg. This exercise boosts blood flow to muscles and
prevents them from seizing up as you drive.
g) Stay Alert-
Turning up the radio or leaving the window open (especially if it’s cold) can
help keep you alert and awake, but you can also chew gum.
Yes, cinnamon gum boosts alertness by 25%.
