It isn’t just for Bodybuilders anymore.

If you’re one who believes everything you hear on the news, then you probably believe
that all meat is bad for you, but hold on, thanks to recent research, you may want to
add more of it your diet.

No, that’s not a misprint and we’re certainly not advocating you start following the
“Carnivore diet,” but an occasional steak once or twice a week, could actually bolster
your health, especially when it comes to helping you lose or maintain your weight.
And if weight isn’t an issue, read on and learn how it (meat) can bolster mental health
and energy levels.

More than 100,000 thousand people who ate steak, beef ribs and burgers 2 or more
times a week were monitored for close to 5 years and after the 5 years-the subjects
reported lower rates of depression and anxiety compared to those who avoid it entirely.
Plus, beef is a top source of critical nutrients like protein, B vitamins (especially B12)
and iron, which help with energy production.
So, if the news and family and friends have demonized it (red meat) for far too long,
it may be the right time to stop listening to them and have a few servings of good
quality beef a few times a week.

And lastly, just in case you’re sure what type of red meat is good for weight loss,
here’s a list.
The leanest cuts of meat include, top, bottom and eye-round roasts and sirloin.
And since these leaner cuts tend to be less expensive than filet or rib-eye, consider
choosing grass-fed beef. It (grass-fed) has 60% less fat and higher amounts of
omega-3 fatty acids and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which is a fatty acid
found in meat and dairy products that’s been linked to weight loss.
