As we approach the Fall season a number of things will happen to us health-wise,
those things: weight gain, propensity to eat more carbs and sweets and a desire to
exercise less. If this describes you and you want to avoid the weight gain, then make the
following sweet treats.
Sweet treats?
Yes, but these sweet treats are under 350 calories and each contains an ingredient
that’ll boost your health.
Recipes for Sweet Treats:

1) Tom Brady’s No. 12 Chocolate Ice Cream!
It’s no secret that the football great eats healthy, but he also eats the things he loves
and one of those things is Ice cream. Not sugar laden, made with milk- fattening
Ice cream, the Ice cream he now enjoys is made with Avocados.
Ingredients:
2 tsps. of Stevia or 2 Tbs. of dark honey
1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
2 avocados, pitted, peeled and quartered
2 tsp. of vanilla extract
Chopped chocolate curls or 1 cup of semi-sweet choc. chips
To make:
In a pot, combine the stevia (or honey) and 1/2 cup of water; over
medium heat, bring to a boil. Cook until stevia dissolves, stir in the
cocoa powder. In a blender, puree the avocados (do one at a time)
along with 1/2 cup of syrup until smooth; add the second avocado,
the syrup and vanilla extract. Pour this into a freeze-proof container;
cover and freeze for a few hours, stir and freeze for a few more hours or
overnight. Serve with chocolate curls or a few choc. chips sprinkled on top.
Calories per serving- 275, Prot-4g. Carbs-49g.
The healthy ingredient:
Avocados- Reduce aches and pain with avocados. The oleic acid
in avocados slows the output of ache-triggering hormones to curb pain
flare-ups by 55%.

2) Grapefruit Ginger Granita!
The price of grapefruit comes down in the fall and winter season,
so eat 1/2 in the morning and use the other half to make this sweet treat.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup of grapefruit juice Buy unsweetened juice or juice 1 whole
grapefruit in a juicer or blender.
2 tsp. of Stevia
1 tsp. of grated, peeled fresh ginger
Grapefruit and orange segments, (optional)
To make:
In a microwave-safe bowl, stir together grapefruit juice
and sugar; microwave in 15-sec intervals; stirring, until
sugar is dissolved, about 1 min. Stir in 1/2 cup of water and
grated ginger; let cool. Pour into freeze-proof 8″ square pan.
Cover and freeze until solid, about 8 hours. Using fork, scrape
frozen mixture into flakes. If desired, serve garnished with grapefruit
and orange segments.
Calories per serving-90, Carbs-23g. Prot-0g.
The healthy ingredient:

3) Raspberry=Pomegranate Sorbet!

sorbet.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup of pomegranate juice
2 to 3 tsp. of Stevia or 2 Tbs. of dark honey
4 cups of raspberries, fresh or frozen
To make:
Line freeze-proof 8″ square pan with foil. In a pot, stir together pomegranate
juice and stevia or honey; over medium heat, bring to a boil. Cook until stevia
dissolves, about 1 min. Let cool. In a food processor or blender, puree the pomegranate
juice mixture and raspberries until smooth. Transfer to a strainer to remove seeds.
Transfer to a pan. Cover; freeze until firm, about 6 hours. Cut into chunks. In the blender,
puree fruit chunks until blended and smooth. Transfer to a freeze-proof 1 qt. container.
Cover; freeze until firm, about 2 hours. Garnish as desired.
Calories per serving-185, Prot-1g. Carbs-35g.
The healthy ingredient: Raspberries.
Slim down faster with raspberries. The red beauties contain plant compounds
called flavonoids that boost metabolism. A boost in metabolism which allows
you to lose 2 pounds per week.

4) Lime Italian Ice!
No need to travel to Italy to buy an Italian Ice, stay home and make your own.
Ingredients:
2 to 3 tsps. of Stevia
3/4 cup of fresh mint leaves
2 tsp. of grated lime zest
Lime zest curls (optional) for garnish
In a pot, combine 2 cups of water, stevia and mint. Over medium-heat, bring this
water to a boil; cook until stevia dissolves, about 1 min. Transfer to a heat-proof
bowl. Let cool; strain to remove mint; Stir in zest and juice into stevia syrup.
Transfer to freeze-proof 8″ square pan. Cover; freeze until solid, about 8 hrs.
Using fork, scrape frozen mixture into flakes. If desired, serve garnished with
lime zest curls. Use a julienne vegetable peeler to make the zest curls.
Calories per serving- 140, Carbs-35g. Prot-0g.
The healthy ingredient: Limes.
