If you were around 30 years ago, then you may remember Cindy Crawford.
At the time, she was the hottest supermodel around and today, at 50
something, she still looks good and one of her secrets is Chocolate.

That’s right, Ms. Crawford says chocolate is her secret for maintaining
her slim and trim figure. She enjoys a square of dark chocolate after dinner.

Researchers say that having a small chocolate treat will help you lose
500% more weight than those who avoid it and if you’re concerned about
gut health, you should also have chocolate.

We’re not sure if Ms. Crawford is aware of this, but researchers say that
a small amount of choc. each day protects the GI tract, especially in older
folks. Foods like chocolate which are rich in polyphenols, plant compounds
that significantly decreases intestinal permeability, a measure of how
easily substances can pass through the intestinal wall. Polyphenols
strengthen the gut lining to ward off leaky gut syndrome and the bloat,
gas and cramps it can bring.
And lastly, if you tire of chocolate and need some other foods to help
with gut health, eat pomegranates, cranberries and apples.
