The Fall season will soon be here, you know, cooler weather, shorter days,
leaves changing colors and men (and some women) spending hours glued
to the television on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

If this describes your household and you need an idea or two about
what type of foods to serve during all of that television watching, here
are 4 recipe suggestions.

The 4 recipes:
Chicken wings, a dip, pretzels and nachos.

Recipe no. 1-
a) Spicy Nachos with Guacamole!

Ingredients:
1 cup of guacamole, (make it yourself or buy already-made)
2 Tbs. of chopped cilantro, (fresh)
1 Tbs. of chopped and 1/2 cup sliced drained pickled jalapeno
peppers
12 cups of Tortilla chips
8 oz. of Cheddar cheese, sharp (shredded)
2 plum tomatoes, seeded and diced*
1 can of black olives, drained (small can)
1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt
* To cut plum tomatoes, use kitchen shears to dice them up
To make:
Heat oven to 350*F. Mix guacamole, cilantro and 1 Tbs. of chopped
jalapenos. Reserve. In a large skillet, layer tortilla ships with remaining
ingredients, except the yogurt and guacamole. Bake until cheese melts,
Finish up by topping the nachos with yogurt and guacamole.
Calories–550 per serving. Serves 6.

b) Recipe no. 2-
Pretzel Nuggets with Dijon Dip!

Ingredients:
1 lb. loaf of frozen bread dough, thawed at room temperature

1/4 cup of butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp. of coarse salt
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
1/2 cup of Dijon mustard (or spicy mustard)
1 tsp. of onion
To make:
Heat oven to 350*F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray (Pam).
Divide dough into 8 pieces; roll each into 12″ rope. With knife, score tops of
ropes lengthwise. Brush with butter; sprinkle with salt. Cut each rope crosswise
into 8 pieces. Transfer to the baking sheet. Bake until browned and baked
through, about 12 to 15 mins. Mix mayo, mustard and onion powder and serve
with the pretzels.
Calories–150 per pretzel bite. Serves 8.

Recipe no. 3-

Ingredients:

Assorted fresh vegetables and gluten-free chips or pieces of pita bread
To make:
Drain the artichoke hearts, reserving 2 Tbs. of the liquid.
Chop artichokes. In a bowl, combine chopped artichokes, mayonnaise,
grated cheese, onion, parsley and the remaining artichoke liquid.
Chill until ready to serve. Serve this dip with cut up veggies, or chips
or pieces of toasted pita bread.
Calories–170 per Tbs. Serves 6.

Recipe no. 4-
Sesame Chicken Wings!

Ingredients:
3 or 4 lbs. of chicken wings
3 Tbs. of butter

To make:

no longer pink, 25 to 30 mins. Cook honey, hot sauce, lime juice, soy sauce
and 1 Tbs. of butter in a small saucepan for a min. or two. Sprinkle the sesame
seeds on the wings and serve with the sauce.
Calories: 55 calories per wing and the sauce- 40 calories per Tbs. Serves 4.
