The Fall Gourd Rx For a Stronger Heart!
It’s that time of year again. What time is that, you ask?
Fall.
You know, shorter days, less sunlight, colder temperatures
and pumpkin.
Pumpkins?
That’s right, pumpkin-spiced beverages, pumpkin-laced baked
goods, pumpkin-scented candles and the list goes on.
Well, there’s actually some good news for those who actually enjoy
real pumpkin in their soups, stews or baked goods, the good news:
Getting a few tablespoons of pumpkin each day can keep your heart strong
and youthful.
Yes, according to new research, a little pumpkin each day may keep the
heart doctor away.
Pumpkin is rich in plant pigments that soak into blood-vessel walls, where
they speed the breakdown of tissue-aging inflammation.
A 1/2 cup each day cuts your risk of plaque buildup and artery stiffening
by 80%. And doing this dietary tip, you’ll keep the arteries that nourish
the heart in tip-top shape, adding a good 10 to 12 healthy years to your life.
Another helpful hint:
Add a little pumpkin to your dog’s meal and keep their hearts strong
and vibrant as well.
So, if you’re the type that only enjoys pumpkin during the fall and winter
months, you may want to stock up, and eat it year round.
And lastly, head to stores like Aldi, Walmart, Kroger’s, B.J.’s, Costco
or Trader Joe’s and buy a case or two (of Pumpkin) and store it in the
pantry, basement or garage.
Not sure how to use pumpkin? That’s okay, just head to YouTube.com
or go to Google.com and type recipes for healthy pumpkin soup, stews,
Mac & cheese (using pumpkin) or pumpkin muffins, brownies
or bread in the search bar.
