When one thinks of foods that are served in millions of Spanish households
around the world, what food usually comes to mind?
If you said beans, give yourself a pat on the back.
But we also know that a number of other countries also serve tons of beans
and very little to no meat.
And thanks to new research, eating more beans (and rice) can keep a very serious
disease from hampering or even ending your life, the disease: Heart disease.

Heart disease has been a topic of interest for many people for decades now
and the ways to reduce it (heart disease) have been varied and numerous.

Some suggestions on how to reduce it from a number of health-care
professionals:
Eat low-glycemic foods
Exercise 30 to 60 minutes a day
Eat more green veggies
Eat less sugar
Get involved in a hobby-(dancing or gardening)
Take up meditation
and on and on…

Well, the above mentioned tips will certainly help reduce your risks
of heart disease, but now doctors are saying eat this food a few times
a week and really reduce your risk of heart disease.

The Food:
Beans.
That’s right, popular in a lot of countries around the world and for
good reasons, they (beans) work.
Eating 1/2 cup to a cup of beans three to five times a week can
reduce not only blood pressure but cholesterol as well, and really
keep your heart in tip-top shape.
The researchers say that the fiber and protein combination in beans
is what makes them an optimal food for not just heart health,
but healthy blood sugar levels and weight management.

So, if you’re one who enjoys your beef, chicken, pork and fish
for 2 to 3 meals each day, start swapping in a meal of beans and
rice or meatless chili (with plenty of beans) or beans served over
steamed or stir-fried vegetables, once a week and then twice
a week and you’ll reap the benefits of a stronger heart, better
blood sugar levels, deeper sleep, sunnier moods and a slimmer
waistline.

One last tip:
