Low-Fat Dessert Recipe For The Weekends!
If you enjoy having a sweet treat on a Saturday or Sunday night, then you may want
to copy the following brownie dessert.
Brownies are a favorite dessert in the U.S. but many avoid them due to the
high calorie count, but hold on, what if there was a great-tasting lower calorie
brownie, would you eat them?
If the answer is yes, then you can give credit to television’s Dr. Oz.
Dr. Oz?
Well, not really Dr. Oz. but his daughter Daphne.
Daphne is a wellness coach, mother, television personality
and whole-food chef and the following low-fat brownie recipe
with 60% less fat, comes from her book “Happy Cook.”
And what makes this version low-fat are the ingredients.
The 2 ingredients:
Sweet potatoes and black beans.
So, if you given up brownies because of the high calorie count, it’s time
to put them back on the menu.
To make:
Turn on the oven to 350*F.
Puree 15 oz. rinsed black beans and 1 cup of mashed sweet potatoes in
a blender; add to a bowl. Stir in 2 Tbs. of melted butter, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of
brown sugar, 1 tsp. of vanilla, 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp. of baking
soda and 1 tsp. of salt. In a bowl, whisk 1/2 cup of choc. chips and 1/2 cup
of hot black coffee until melted; add to batter. Pour batter into a greased pan
or if you have a mini muffin pan use that. Bake for 10 mins. and if you desire-
add some type of garnishments on top. Low-fat whipped cream and cut up
fruit like strawberries or blueberries.
