Many of you out there are now starting to eat salads.
You’re eating salad in the hopes that they’ll help you slip into
that bikini or two-piece bathing suit in June and July.

But what about a salad to reduce stress levels?
That’s right, salads only seem to be used to help reduce weight or fix
some medical issue, (heart disease or cancer), but we forget that food
can also help with issues related to the mind, (depression, high stress levels,
anxiety, etc.)

So, with that said, print out this article, bring it to the grocery store with you
and buy the following items.
The Stress-Reducing Salad-Orange & Spinach Salad!
Make this low-calorie salad along with the honey-infused citrus vinaigrette.
Ingredients:
2 oranges
5 Tbs. Olive oil
2 Tbs. of apple cider vinegar
1 Tbs. minced scallions
1 tsp. of honey
1 package of Spinach, Baby or regular
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1/3 cup of feta cheese, crumbled
1 container of fresh or a bag of frozen raspberries,
(let thaw before using) 6 or 7 oz.
Strawberries can also be used along with the raspberries.
To make:
First step- make the dressing.
Grate 1 tsp. of zest from a clean orange peel.
Cut off rinds of both oranges; using a small knife, cut between
membranes to release segments. Cover; chill and reserve. In a
large bowl, whisk together olive oil, vinegar, scallions, honey, orange
zest, 2 Tbs. of water, 1/2 tsp. of salt and 1 tsp. of pepper.

Second step- make the salad.
Layer spinach, red onion and feta cheese over dressing in bowl.
Cover with damp paper towel. Chill until ready to serve. When you’re
ready to eat, uncover; toss the salad gently until it’s well coated.
Arrange orange slices around the edges of the plates. Arrange
spinach mixture on top. Toss a few raspberries on each plate
to make it more decorative and colorful.

And if you’re wondering how this salad is a stress reliever, it’s all in the
the oranges.
Oranges can relieve jangled nerves in as little as 3 minutes.
GIve credit to the beta-carotene, the pigment that gives the fruit
its bright color, calms overworked adrenals to slash risk of chronic
tension by 50%.
One last tip:
In addition to eating this salad, just peel an orange (or two) and
eat it as a snack, or juice them in a juicer (with a cup of water) should
you find yourself becoming more frazzled and stressed.
